Port Alberni’s Hospice Society opened the doors at their new location to the public on Thursday, August 8th, giving us an inside look at the behind the scenes of the Alberni Valley Hospice Society.  Now the Alberni Hospice Society’s team have a beautiful workspace to reflect all the hard work they do, from administration services to community education. All of Port Alberni is touched by the services offered by Alberni Valley Hospice Society, they are a large part of our community.

This building is a much-needed upgrade for AVHS (Alberni Valley Hospice Society), they now have 1,000 more square feet than the society’s previous location on 3rd Avenue. Jennifer Collette, president of the Alberni Valley Hospice Society expressed her heartfelt thanks to all of the sponsors, volunteers and the community for helping AVHS achieve their goals. Also in attendance was the Mayor, Sharie Minions, and MLA Scott Fraser.

The Alberni Valley Hospice Society puts on all different kinds of fundraisers during the year in Port Alberni, currently, they are hosting a Vancouver Island Getaway Raffle to raise funds for the Ty Watson House.
